Five Wildcats headed to Top Prospects!

The NAHL officially released the list of players selected for the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Troy, MI this afternoon.  A total of five Wildcats will be taking part in it: four with Team Texas, and one with the NAHL 18U Selects team.

On the 18U Selects is goaltender Evan Cowley.  Cowley has appeared in 31 games for the 'Cats this season, going 12-17-2 with a 3.19 GAA and .890 save percentage.  He is expected to be closely watched by attending scouts, as he is ranked ninth among North American goalie prospects for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Charlie Hemstrom will be the lone representative of the Wildcats on defense for Team Texas. The 5'11" 195 Michigan native is in his third NAHL season, having played the previous two with the St. Louis Bandits.  Through 30 games, he has 8 points coming on three goals and five assists.

Three Wichita Falls forwards will be on the Texas squad as well: Conor O'Neil, Eliot Grauer, and Kyle Bauman.  O'Neil has been impressive since joining the Wildcats from Amarillo in a trade in November.  In 22 games he has 19 points, including 11 goals, good for third on the team.  Eliot Grauer was picked in the 2012 Draft after a season in the USHL and hasn't disappointed: in 36 games, he leads the team with 29 points. His 15 assists are also best on the team, and his 14 goals rank him second.  Bauman is ahead in goals with 17 and is second on the team in points with 25.

All will wear their same jersey numbers except Bauman who will have #23 on his back.  The Tournament takes place in Troy, Michigan February 18-20 and can be viewed on the FastHockey Networks.
